Our experience allows us to offer expert advice on the employment aspects of transactions, reorganisation and redundancies having handled a large number of complicated reorganisations and multi-party transfer of undertakings (TUPE) cases. Maitland Walker’s employment team has also acted in relation to regulatory matters and has successfully acted in cases concerning the Rugby Football Union and the General Medical Council.
On the contentious side, we regularly assist our clients in the defence of claims for all manner of things including, but not limited to all kinds of unfair dismissal, all forms of discrimination, breach of contract and in almost all circumstances conduct our own advocacy. Our approach enables us to provide a continuous service to clients who do not wish to use outside counsel to present cases in courts and tribunals. Representing our clients in this way allows us to maintain a valuable proximity to their case throughout, ensuring that clients receive a seamless service and the best attention throughout. We offer a wealth of procedural experience in Employment Tribunal, Employment Appeal Tribunal and High Court litigation and recognise the importance of working with our client to achieve their overall objective in the case, whether that is a swift resolution by way of a negotiated settlement or fighting the case to a judicial conclusion.
