Licensing Reform Day Six: Children and Costs

The Daily Mail has hailed the Government’s decision to “rebalance” the licensing laws as a victory for the newspaper against twenty-four hour drinking laws.

This article is the final one in a series of six as we take an in-depth look at the proposed changes and whether or not they will have the desired effect. Today, we look at plans to extend the punishments for persistent under-age selling, the banning of below-cost sales, increases in licence fees and to automatically revoke licences for non-payment of annual licence fees.
