Nick trained with City firm Charles Russell having obtained a degree in law at King’s College London and was admitted as a solicitor in September 2002. Nick "heads up" the employment department at Maitland Walker and specialises in employment law covering both contentious and non-contentious cases acting for both employers and employees, priding himself on his balanced view of both sides of the relationship.

Nick’s work includes the handling of employment tribunal claims for unfair dismissal, unlawful deduction from wages, harassment and bullying in the work place as well as all forms of discrimination. In addition, he advises on the employment aspects of transactions, re-organisation and redundancies and has handled a large number of complicated multi-party transfer of undertakings (TUPE) cases.

Nick regularly drafts employment contracts and policies and engages in general advisory work. Nick is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is listed by the Law Society as an expert in employment law.

Nick is also a qualified and accredited mediator.

“Often with lawyers you get a narrow view of the legal position. Not with Nick. You always get practical, no-nonsense advice from him; advice always tailored to achieving the best commercial outcome and always considering our best interests. Nick is more than a good lawyer; he is a superb commercial adviser." Stu Mico, Director - Midland Communications Ltd
