Nick Rowe trained with City firm Charles Russell having obtained a 2.1 in law at King’s College London; he was admitted as a solicitor in September 2002. Nick is in charge of the employment department at Maitland Walker and specialises in employment law covering both contentious and non-contentious cases acting for both employers and employees, priding himself on his balanced view of both sides of the relationship.

Nick’s work includes the handling of employment tribunal claims for unfair dismissal, unlawful deduction from wages, harassment and bullying in the work place as well as all forms of discrimination. In addition, he advises on the employment aspects of transactions, re-organisation and redundancies and has handled a large number of complicated multi-party transfer of undertakings (TUPE) cases.

Nick regularly drafts employment contracts and policies and engages in general advisory work. Nick is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Nick also assists the corporate and commerical department with transactional work.

Nick has recently retired from his main hobby, rugby. Whilst playing, Nick played for his home club St.Ives, Rosslyn Park, Bracknell and, upon moving to the area in 2000, for Cheltenham RFC. Along the way Nick gained numerous representative honours, playing for Cornwall and the South and South West in the Divisional championship. Now enjoying retirement, Nick spends his time "grazing" and trying to keep fit.
