Stephen Thomas is an experienced company commercial lawyer who worked as an in-house lawyer for most of his career prior to joining Maitland Walker. He trained with City Law firm, Turner Kenneth Brown, before working for Legal & General and outsourcing companies, Marlborough Stirling Plc and Hazell Carr Plc. At the latter two companies he held the position of Head of Legal and Company Secretary. He has advised upon a very wide range of commercial contract and corporate transactions including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, software licensing and support and outsourcing agreements. Stephen has particular expertise in the financial services sector.
He was involved in the flotation of Marlborough Stirling Plc onto the main market of the London Stock Exchange and managed the legal aspects of the sale of Marlborough Stirling Plc (valued at £80M) to United Utilities Plc.
Stephen's passions outside work are his wife and three children, (welsh) rugby, skiing and fishing.
