The amount of discount you get will vary on how long you have been a council tenant. You could get anywhere between 35% and 70% discount on the market value of your home.
If you dispose of your property within 5 years then you will be required to repay a relevant proportion of the discount. You should also keep in mind that the amount you have to repay is a percentage rather than a fixed sum and this means that if the property value has increased then the amount you have to repay will also go up.
